INTRODUCTION

Hello, I’m Abdulhaleem from Middlesex University. My journey towards a career in cybersecurity was deeply personal and inspired by a close loved one who experienced a significant financial loss due to hacking.

This incident not only impacted me personally but also ignited my passion for solving complex problems. Driven by a commitment to safeguard individuals and organisations from digital threats, I am continually fascinated by the dynamic landscape of cyber threats.

The challenge of staying one step ahead in securing our digital world is what motivates me.

My interest in enhancing my skills and knowledge led me to the Lateral Connect mentoring programme, which I learned about through a specialised online forum focused on cybersecurity careers. The positive experiences and success stories shared by former participants inspired me deeply, compelling me to apply.

PROGRAMME EXPECTATIONS

I joined the Lateral Connect programme, stimulated with the aid of its dedication to bridging the cybersecurity skills gap, which aligns deeply with my ambition to enhance the security of the digital age.

I firmly agree that through collective effort and the sharing of expertise, we can forge a steady digital future.

My expectation from this programme is to be a leader in cybersecurity, prepared with advanced skills and a pioneering mind-set to be able to permit me to drive innovative protection techniques and influence advantageous alternatives in the enterprise.

WHAT THE PROGRAMME MEANS

My expectation from joining Lateral Connect is two-fold. First, I aim to become a visionary leader in cybersecurity, equipped with cutting-edge skills and a pioneering mindset that will allow me to drive innovative security strategies.

My goal is not only to grow in knowledge, it is to shape the industry’s future, making a significant impact on how security challenges are approached and resolved globally.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, to me being an ambassador is a responsibility, a mission, and a golden ticket to professional development. Together, I believe we can make a difference.
