Location: Remote
We have an exciting opportunity for a Web Developer with excellent PHP, JS and WordPress experience to join a growing, ambitious team to help further develop one of the world’s fastest growing and most-installed WordPress plugins, UpdraftPlus (see www.updraftplus.com).
Active on over 3 million websites, the company’s product is also the highest rated of its kind, and the most installed plugin owned by a UK company.
You will play a leading role in the company’s aim to continue to be the dominant player in the plugin industry.
You will be working together with a small, global team involved in development and testing.
The day-to-day role
Collaborate with others on our codebase to implement new features, bug fixes and improvements
Work in PHP, JavaScript and WordPress libraries to write clean, efficient and secure code
Write inline documentation for your code
Test and produce testing guides for your code
Manage your own time to fulfil your tasks
Research / debug problems on your own or in collaboration with other developers and our support team
Your exact responsibilities will depend on your experience, how this fits with other members of the team and subject to discussion and agreement!
You’ll definitely need experience with:
PHP – you’d be coding UpdraftPlus or WP Optimize, plus fragments for managing the website as well as UpdraftCentral.
WordPress plugin development.
It would be nice if you have experience with:
JavaScript – a smaller part of UpdraftPlus, but much bigger part of UpdraftCentral.
GitHub / GitLab / Git – nice to have, but can be learnt quickly by good developers used to alternatives like SVN.
